[St Mary's Church]

St Mary's Parish traces its history back to the goldrush of the early 1850's. St Mary's church was built in 1858 with the present sanctuary added in 1866. The roof and interior of the church were extensively restored in 2000. Like other churches of its era the stained glass windows are a feature. A French influence can be seen around the time the church was built in a very early commemoration of Our Lady's appearance at Lourdes.
